ProtectionPlus for SecurityGateway Pricing
The ProtectionPlus add-on is a highly recommended addition to SecurityGateway as it provides a second independent virus scanning engine (one anti-virus engine is included with SecurityGateway by default) along with Zero Hour™ detection and Outbreak Protection provided by Recurrent Pattern Detection&trade (RPD). Please note that your ProtectionPlus licence must at least match your SecurityGatway licence size.

What is upgrade cover?
SecurityGateway and its ProtectionPlus add-on are continually being developed and improved. Having product upgrade cover on your licence means that your licence will automatically qualify for free upgrades released during the period of that cover. Licences for include 1 year of product upgrade cover by default and a 2 year option is available. The upgrade cover can be renewed for a low cost each year and we will do our best to contact you to remind you about your product's upgrade cover expiry date each year.

What are the renewal costs each year?
This varies by product and is a percentage of the new price at time of renewal. For SecurityGateway it is 35% and for the ProtectionPlus add-on it is 70%.

If I choose not to renew, will my software stop working?
SecurityGateway will continue to work if allowed to expire, but you will no longer be covered for free upgrades and free technical support. In the case of the ProtectionPlus add-in, the Kaspersky virus signatures updates and Outbreak Protection look-ups will stop working leaving your email without the benefit of these protective features ie. not a good situation!

Does upgrade cover include free technical support?
No, a licence's product support cover only entitles you to new versions of the products as and when they are released. However, we are happy to provide comprehensive free technical support via phone and email to licences which are still within their product support period and that were purchased directly from us. If your licence was purchased through a reseller, then you should contact your reseller as the first point of contact for sales and support queries before contacting us.

I purchased my licence a month ago and a new version of the software has just been released. Am I entitled to an upgrade?
Yes - because your licence came with a year's product upgrade cover you can benefit from new developments and fixes that are released over the following year simply by downloading and installing the latest version from our website.

I purchased my product 3 years ago and I want to download the latest version of the product. Can I do this?
Yes, although you will need to renew the product upgrade cover on your licence first. This can be done quickly and easily on our website here. If you have not renewed the product upgrade cover your licence will not cover you for a free upgrade to the latest version of the product.

Can I purchase more than 1 year of product support cover?
Yes. Licences for SecurityGateway and its ProtectionPlus add-on come with 1 year of product upgrade cover included, however an optional 2 year product upgrade cover option can be purchased.
